This will be an interesting seat to watch: both the Conservatives and Labour will be wanting to win.
Malcolm Richards has stood down after his mayoral year, and standing in his place in Phil Cunnington. He stood for UKIP in 2016, but is now Conservative.
Labour is standing Nick Fox, who came close to victory in 2019.

Phil Cunnington, Conservatives
For the last 25 years, I have lived in Norreys and raised my family here.
My passion for Norreys and the wellbeing of its residents remains strong, so I have campaigned and fundraised for local schools and facilities, including the saving of the Denmark Street Car park.
Norreys has seen additional housing over the last few years and that has brought with it new opportunities and some new challenges. As a ward resident I am pleased that, as well as new neighbours, the expansion has brought significant investment into our community.
Cantley Park will have £1.6m invested into improvements this summer. We have great access to the new town centre, new leisure facilities and now the Northern Distributor Road is mostly open. I want Norreys to see increasing benefits of the improved traffic flow.
Two years ago, I was elected to represent Norreys as a town councillor. I’ve enjoyed working hard to make a difference for my community and by representing you on the borough council I can give Norreys an even stronger voice.
Jane Ainslie, Lib Dems
I have lived in Wokingham for over 20 years where I brought up my son and daughter who went to St Crispin’s and Holt secondary, and who are currently both studying at Birmingham University.
As a family we enjoy the bustling feel of a self-contained town with easy access to the countryside.
I have been actively involved in the community as a school governor at two local schools for over 15 years, coaching my daughter’s football team for six years and supporting the Syrian refugee resettlement programme over the past five years.
I see joining the council as a stepping stone to a role with a bigger impact.
My particular interest is around education especially special educational needs and mental health issues.
Nick Fox, Labour
Nick lives near Bishops Drive with his partner and young family. His children attend local schools and nurseries. Nick has worked for a major utility company for many years in a variety of front line roles which has reinforced his belief in the value of collaborative working. Even when people disagree, the best route to a good solution is to listen to all views and work as a team.
Nick has been a Wokingham Town Councillor for two years where he sits on the town Planning Committee and the town finance committee.
Nick wants to be a borough councillor to improve the lives of local residents and protect the borough from unwelcome development. Too often unwelcome development is waved through at Borough Planning Committee dominated by Conservative councillors.
He has seen at first hand the struggles of local families and the great work of Cllr Rachel Burgess has done fighting for those who need to be heard and helped.
Covid has caused us huge strains in our personal lives in the last year but Nick hopes to be back out on the doorstep soon, talking to residents on a weekly basis as we have been doing for years before the Covid pandemic.
The role of a borough councillor is to represent their local residents in their ward and the larger borough. We should always there to listen and support.
Nick hopes that with a new voice and a new councillor for Norreys, we can change Wokingham Borough Council for the better.
