Work is taking place this week to update roads around the Longshot Lane recycling site in Bracknell.
As a result, re3 is warning that access to the tip could be restricted at various points of the week, although the site will remain fully open.
In preparation for the introduction of charges for recycling green waste, hardcore and rubble as well as the new commercial vehicle permit scheme, traffic lane upgrade work will take place until Friday.
A spokesperson said: “Occasionally, over the course of this week, small areas of the Longshot Lane site may have to be closed off for no more than 15 minutes at a time in order for concrete to be delivered and poured.
“However, the recycling centre will remain open to re3 residents throughout the construction work period, with only very minor, if any, delays to visits anticipated.”
Permit scheme
The changes come just a few months after the introduction of a permit scheme for residents: only Bracknell Forest, Wokingham borough and Reading borough residents can now use the centre and its sister site in Reading after West Berkshire council withdrew its funding for the sites.
Last week, re3 also announced a plan to open bags of rubbish left at the tip in a bid to boost recycling rates.
