CHANGES to speed limits in the borough’s roads will come into effect from Monday.
Two sections of the B3349 Basingstoke Road will be reduced after requests from local residents.
The speed limit in Riseley is due to drop from 40 to 30mph between Sun Lane to the south just outside the village on its northern boundary. Odiham Road is also being reduced to 30mph, from The Bull public house to the borough boundary.
The 60mph rural stretch between Charlton Lane and Back Lane is also being reduced to 40mph. Traffic surveys carried out by highways engineers at the borough council show the vast majority of motorists already drive this section at 40mph.
These changes, which are supported by police, mean the length of the B3349 will either be 30 or 40 mph.
The new speed limits come into force the moment the new signs go up on Monday, September 7.
