The theme for the Wokingham Winter Carnival is Best of British … you could need to add Luck at the end if the weather forecast is true.
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Sunday, November 29 for Southern England, which includes Wokingham.
It says that severe gales are expected in some areas. Inland gusts of up to 60mph could occur.
And heavy rain is forecast too.
The combination of wet and windy conditions means that temperatures will feel a lot colder than they actually are – instead of feeling like the 11ºC it is, it will feel closer to 7ºC.
The day should be mostly dry, with a mixture of scattered showers in the morning, around 2pm and then getting heavier from 4pm. The heaviest rain is forecast for 5pm and will hopefully come after the carnival procession and carol singing has taken place.
The Met Office says that it is 80% certain that it will rain at 5pm.
The wind will be strong all day, peaking around 3pm.
So, in summary: if you’re going to the Winter Carnival, wrap up warm, have waterproofs but leave your brolly at home because of the wind.
