A WHITLEY man has been charged with one count of GBH after allegedly pushing a pensioner over in the car park of Asda in Lower Earley.
David Beckford, aged 30, of Laburnum Gardens, Reading, was arrested on Sunday, May 5, and charged the following day.
The incident allegedly happened around 5.20pm on Tuesday, April 16.
The 82-year-old victim required surgery and a hip replacement as a result of her injuries.
Thames Valley Police said that Beckford appeared before Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 6, and was remanded in custody to appear before Reading Crown Court on Monday, June 3.
