YOUNGSTERS from a Wokingham nursery had a rootin’-tootin’ time at their Wild West themed summer fair earlier this month.
Children, parents and staff from Meadow Nursery School, in Murray Road, threw the Meadow Mayhem bash on Sunday, May 14, to raise funds for the nursery and generally have lots of fun.
A bouncy castle, face-painting, treasure hunt and Beat the Goalie competition kept the children entertained throughout the afternoon, and they had the opportunity to look around an engine from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue.
A fancy dress competition saw children transform into cowboys and cowgirls for the Wild West theme.
A silent auction, featuring prizes donated by several local businesses and individuals, raised £300, which took the grand total for the day to £1,800. The money will go towards purchasing purpose-built play equipment for the nursery’s garden.
Chair of Meadow Nursery School, Annette Medhurst said: “Meadow Mayhem is always a very popular event enjoyed by all the children and their families and this year we were particularly fortunate with the glorious weather.
“The children had a wonderful time and it was great to see so many of them in their wild west themed character costumes.”
