WORK to replace a gas main in Winnersh will move to its next phase later this month.
SGN has been working on Reading Road from Woosehill through to the Showcase roundabout for much of the year and on Monday, November 26, the work will move to the junctions of Baslow Road and Arbor Lane for an estimated fortnight.
Traffic lights will remain in use during the works, but there are some changes.
In a letter to residents, project manager Graham Stovold warned that Baslow Road will be closed at its junction with Reading Road for up to a fortnight.
During this closure, there will be no access to Baslow Road from Reading Road and a diversion will use Chatsworth Avenue, Churchill Drive and King Street Lane.
The traffic lights will be in place at Arbor Lane and Mr Stovold is promising that, as is currently happening, between 7am and 7pm the lights will be manually operated to ensure that traffic keeps moving.
He added: “Once we have completed this phase, our engineers will continue working under two-way traffic lights along Reading Road towards Reading.”
