POP UP events about the signs of child exploitation are running this month.
On Saturday, Wokingham Borough Council is hosting the first session of its Let’s Talk About X campaign.
Running from 10am to 3pm in Woodley town centre, it will highlight the risks of criminal and sexual exploitation.
This includes county lines drug trafficking.
“I am really pleased to see that we are engaging and educating our communities about this important issue,” said Cllr Graham Howe, executive member for children’s services at the borough council.
“No-one is immune to child exploitation, so it is vital that everyone who has contact with children and young people be aware of the signs so that we can prevent further harm.”
The borough council said it is important that families from all walks of life understand and recognise the signs of exploitation.
