FORGET Brexit – the talking point at the House of Commons recently has been a pint.
And not just any pint, but one brewed in Wokingham borough.
Earlier this month, Dean Bond from Bonds Brew’s was invited to Parliament by Bracknell MP Dr Phillip Lee.
The occasion was to toast the appearance of his Goldi-Hops brew in the Strangers’ Bar.
The beer was the guest ale and an appropriate way to launch the fourth anniversary celebrations for the popular brewery.
And the appearance of Goldi-Hops was one thing that politicians of all hues could agree on.
Dr Lee told The Wokingham Paper: “It is clear that Dean has a real passion for making the best beers possible.
“I was proud to be able to present his Goldi-Hops Brew as the guest beer in the Strangers’ bar at the House of Commons recently.
“Through this scheme, MPs are able to sample beers from across the country and I am delighted to report that this attracted some very favourable comments.”
