TO MARK World Homeless Day last Thursday, a charity has given a helping hand to the Salvation Army.
Wokingham In Need presented Captain Jan Howlin with a cheque for £400.
This was given to help with the Sturges Road centre’s work with the borough’s homeless residents.
There are dedicated facilities at the church including shower rooms, IT facilities and a kitchen.
Last week’s gift was given in memory of Dean Beeton.
Susan Jackson, who founded Wokingham In Need, said: “Dean gave exceptional help to the homeless at the Wokingham Drop-In Centre funded by Wokingham in Need.
“WIN also donated new clothing sweatshirts, hoodies, trousers, socks, underwear and shoe. We will continue their commitment to the homeless and vulnerable.”
Mrs Jackson presented the cheque with help from WIN secretary Rosemary O’Donnell.
