It was the greatest story ever told in possibly the greatest way ever …
Tonight’s Living Advent Calendar performance in Wokingham was rather special, as it saw Wokingham Theatre present a live nativity.
There were several performances of the show between 4pm and 5.30pm – and in between visitors could enjoy mulled wine, hot chocolate and a real-life donkey.
It all took place in the grounds of Wokingham Theatre and Cantley House Hotel on Sunday, December 20 – the Sunday before Christmas.
The show itself was a fast-paced retelling using 1950s and 60s songs to tell the events of the first Christmas – the arrival of the baby Jesus.
Although a free event, it was ticketed and all tickets were snapped up, meaning it played to full houses as people wanted to celebrate Christmas.
There are still four great days left in the Living Advent Calendar.
Tomorrow – Monday, December 20 – we enter the final countdown to Christmas and the host venue will be Broad Street Tavern. It’s back to 6.15pm for this performance. What will it be? Find out tomorrow!
