STUDENTS at Wokingham’s schools have proved they are among the brightest in the country, by trumping the national A Level pass rate.
A whopping 99.1% of pupils collecting their results yesterday passed with an A* to E grade, beating last year’s rate of 98%.
Nationally, the A* to E rate was only 97.9%, meaning Wokingham’s students scored above average.
The proportion of students across the borough achieving the highest (A* to A) grades stood at 23.2%.
Wokingham Borough Council released the collective results earlier today, and praised the efforts of students at The Bulmershe School, in Woodley.
Cllr Mark Ashwell, executive member for children’s services, said: “Its great news all round. Well done to all the students, their schools and their families for all their hard work.
“And hats off also to the whole school community at Bulmershe for their outstanding success.”
