A CHANCE to look behind the scenes at the Wokingham Masonic Lodge was on offer earlier this month.
The Wokingham Freemasons threw open the doors of the hall in Reading Road on Saturday, April 9 to let members of the public find out a little bit more about the group.
A cheque for £4,000 was also presented to representatives from local charities to highlight the fundraising work of the lodge.
Event co-ordinator Steve Croston said: “It was a great success for us, we had plenty of people come in to have a look around and take an interest in what we do.
“There are a lot of myths and preconceptions around the Freemasons which we wanted to debunk, and opening up the Masonic Hall to the public helped change some people’s ideas about us and possibly spark some interest in joining.”
