A DRIVER had a lucky escape when her car left the A329(M) in Winnersh on Thursday night before plummeting some 20 metres into a ditch.
The woman, who is said to be in her 50s, suffered no serious injuries during the incident, which happened at approximately 9.45pm.
Fire crews from Wokingham Road and Wokingham joined both the police and an ambulance at the scene after receiving reports a vehicle had left the Wokingham-bound carriageway and stuck a grass bank.
The driver had managed to get herself out of the vehicle, a Honda Accord, but needed help getting back to the hard shoulder.

Those firefighters in attendance would need to remove some shrubbery before using ladders to rescue the woman, who was then given a full medical assessment by the ambulance crew.
She was said to have been a little bit shaken but was not seriously hurt.
The car suffered a number of bumps during the crash and has since been recovered.
