A FEMALE driver is being treated by medics following an accident which closed a section of the M4 in Wokingham this afternoon.
All three lanes of the westbound section of the motorway were blocked for more than an hour following a one-vehicle collision between Junction 11 at Three Mile Cross and J12 for Theale.
The car involved had overturned having collided with a vehicle, believed to be a lorry, which had stopped on the hard shoulder.
The casualty, however, did manage to pull herself out of the vehicle.
Officers from Thames Valley Police were joined by an ambulance crew and pumps from Bracknell, Wokingham Road and Dee Road fire stations.
The woman, 66, has since been taken to hospital having suffered minor injuries.
All lanes have been reopened, but residual delays can be expected as the backed up traffic clears.
During the incident two dogs escaped from the vehicle and remain on the loose.
Anyone who happens to see two lurchers within the area close to Reading Services should call Police on 101 quoting URN: 633 on the 15th of December.
Due to an earlier road traffic collision on the M4 Junction 11/12 we are experiencing delays to our services.
