YOUNG dancers from across the borough will be taking to the stage next week as part of their end of year performance.
More than 200 talented students from The Olivia Dance Academy will be performing a collection of West End musical numbers and an adaptation of the classic ballet The Nutcracker at The Wilde Theatre, South Hill Park, on July 14 and 15.
Proceeds from the performances will be split between The Brain Tumour Charity and the Ollie Young Foundation.
Principal Olivia Elmi said: “The show is very important to The Olivia Dance Academy, not only does it showcase the talent and hard work of our local children; it supports The Brain Tumour Charity, which is very close to our hearts, as in September 2004 one of our pupils Annabel Goode was diagnosed with a brain tumour and lost her fight in November 2004.
“This year we are also supporting the Ollie Young Foundation and working closely with his family to help raise as much awareness and money as we can.
“I have supported this extremely deserving charity and so far The Olivia Dance Academy has raised over £9,000. All profits from this show will be donated to the ‘Annabel Goode Fund and The Ollie Young Foundation’ part of The Brain Tumour Charity.”
Tickets for the performances are £15 for adults, £11 for under 16s. To book visit www.southhillpark.org.uk or call 01344 484123.
